Filed Under Guitar Hero 3 Guitars

The Guitar Hero 3 video game is played with controllers that mimic the look and feel of a guitar. These controllers, or guitars, are used for all aspects of the game, including entering you Guitar Hero 3 cheats. So, for the purpose of this article, I will refer to the game controllers as guitars, even though they are not actually musical instruments. Please don’t whine to me about the technicalities of this. We all know what I’m talking about.

Along with all of the cool improvements in the Guitar Hero 3 game itself over the old GH 2 game, there have been some significant improvements in the guitars as well. It’s obvious the players comfort and gaming experience was foremost in the minds of the developers of the new system.

Each of the available game platform’s guitar has something not shared by any of the other units but they all share the main upgrades of the Guitar Hero 3 system. While the old guitars from previous Guitar Hero issues are compatible with the new game, they don’t have these upgrades.

All Guitar Hero 3 guitars are wireless allowing for awesome freedom to jam and shred like a real Legend of Rock. All but the PlayStation 2 guitar have changeable faceplate also, so you can customize the appearance of your axe.

Each gaming platform has its own guitar. The particulars are noted below.

Xbox 360

The Xbox360 guitar is a black Gibson Les Paul design with an illuminated Xbox guide button built in. It also has an integrated headset port so you can jam away without getting yelled at.
